CREATED FOR HIS GLORY

CREATED FOR HIS GLORY

Read Psalm 100:1-5

Know that the Lord, He is God; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves, we are His people and the sheep of His pasture.

Psalm 100:3 (NKJV)

We all feel pride in our accomplishments, cherishing the creation of life and our creative mind. Our innovations lead to praise and recognition at work, home, or with family and friends. But how often do we use them for, or give credit and glory to, our Creator? God has fashioned a people in His image and for His purpose. “This people I have formed for Myself; They shall declare My praise” (Isaiah 43: 21).

Each day we have a choice to serve God and use the creative power for His Purpose. God tells us, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope” (Jeremiah 29:11). It is when we understand and accept who and whose we are, that we can live a fulfilled life. “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;” (1 Peter 2:9).

There are still those today, like Lucifer, seeking to ascribe the praise to themselves that God deserves. When he tried to tempt Jesus in the wilderness, “Then Jesus said to him, Away with you Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve” (Matthew 4:10).

All created beings, including the angels, were made to glorify their Maker. “Oh come, let us worship and bow down; Let us kneel before the Lord our Maker” (Psalm 95:6). Let us today, in gratitude, declare the praises of our King.

Prayer Focus: Living for God.

Prayer: Dear Father, it is in You that we can make the most of the creative power given to us. May our souls be drawn heavenward in adoration to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
