COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS
Read Exodus 23:20-33
So you shall serve the LORD your God, and He will bless your bread and water. And I will take sickness away from the midst of you.
Exodus 23:25 (NKJV)
There are many in our world today who are feeling unhappy, sad, lonely, and angry. They believe that all odds are against them, and in whatever they do, a spell of bad luck keeps pursuing them. One way to tackle this negative mindset is to count the blessings that you have received. You will be surprised by the countless things to be grateful for.
The children of Israel were promised victories over their enemies if they reconciled with God and put away heathen practices. You may have a request for which you have yet to receive an answer. God is asking us to turn to Him. We are encouraged to be content with how the Lord has blessed us. We shouldn’t have an envious eye toward our neighbor’s possessions (Exodus 20:17).
Jesus promises that He will be the provider for our needs. “And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19). There is no one present on earth who has not received the blessings of God. “He makes His sun rise on the evil and the good, and send rain on the just and the unjust” (Matthew 5:45). We are all loved and blessed by God.
I wish for you today that “The LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make His face to shine upon you, And be gracious to you; The LORD lift His countenance upon you, And give you peace” (Numbers 6:24-26).
Prayer Focus: Gratefulness
Prayer: Dear Father, We are grateful for your many blessing poured out upon us. We are undeserving, but You are gracious; in Jesus’ name, Amen.
